TIP: Make sure the unit is reclined; the brush roll won't spin in the upright position. Step on pedal "1" to tilt the unit backward.
TIP: Your Brush roll stall might be on, this happens when your brush roll gets jammed. Turn the unit OFF for a moment then turn it back ON. If the brush roll continues stuck see the steps below.
If your PowerDash Brush roll is not working, follow the following steps:
-
To access the brush roll, remove the nozzle from the unit by pulling up on the latch and pulling forward. Once you have removed the nozzle cover your unit also has a quick brush roll access cover underneath, lift it and clear out any tangled debris that could be stopping your unit.
-
If your brush roll continues to stall, lay your unit on the side to access the bottom of it. Use a screwdriver to remove the bottom 12 screws that cover the brush roll.
-
Screws 1-2 are on the left of the brush roll.
-
Screws 3-7 are on the top belt access cover.
-
Screws 8-11 are on the bottom belt access cover
-
- Remove the underside belt cover then pull the brush roll out and remove the belt from around it.
- Rinse the brush roll and cut free any tangles it may have. Once done place the belt around the brush roll and pivot it back into position by aligning the notches properly.
CAUTION: If you smell a burnt smell, there might be an issue with your belt. Turn OFF your unit and follow the next steps.
Follow these steps if your belt is damaged or broken
- Following the previous steps, Screws 8 – 11 on the bottom belt access cover need to be removed. Remove Philips head screws only.
- Now that the screws are removed, press the small white lever that is located underneath the belt. Then the rear belt access can pivot outwards as shown. The belt can now be removed and replaced.
- To reassemble, just pivot the rear belt access cover back into place and fasten the screws. Insert the brush roll in the belt and place the bottom part of the brush roll into its place in the unit, then rock the belt side into place.
- Lastly, reattach the belt cover and the 12 screws back in the unit.
