Turn your unit off and remove the dirty water tank. After emptying the dirty water tank, it is recommended to inspect the filterfor any debris. After you have cleaned the filter and emptied the tank, make sure you close the lid properly. **There should be no gaps in your lid for optimal suction.** 4. Inspect your hose for any kinks or tears. Once the hose has been inspected, reattach it to the bottom of the unit firmly to prevent any leaks OR LOSS OF SUCTION. **TIP:** You can drop a coin through the hose to check for clogs, then use a non-sharp stick to rid the hose of those clogs. **NOTE:** If you have tried to troubleshoot and need to fill a warranty claim, please visit our **[Warranty Information](https://hoover.com/pages/warranty-information)** page for more information on how to do so. ---   -
