[Hoover Excelerate Cordless Stick](https://knowledgelibrary.ttifloorcare.com/hoover-library/troubleshooting?hsLang=en#hoover-excelerate-cordless-stick) # Hoover Excelerate - Low/No Suction ## This article contains information on how to fix suction issues on the Hoover Excelerate. **TIP**: Select the appropriate vacuum MODE based on the type of flooring you are cleaning to ensure optimal performance. ![](https://knowledgelibrary.ttifloorcare.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-08-2025-03-50-27-6514-PM.png?width=229&height=162&name=image-png-May-08-2025-03-50-27-6514-PM.png)  **TIP**: Make sure the flap at the opening of the hand vacuum is free of any debris both in front of and behind it for optimal performance.  ### Follow these steps if you're experiencing low/no suction: 1. Hold the hand vacuum over a trash bin and press the dirt cup release button to empty. 3. After emptying the dirt cup, close the dirt cup. 4. Pull the lever between the handle and secure the dirt cup in the opposite hand. Pull the handle to remove the separator assembly from the dirt cup. Wipe off any dust or debris. **DO NOT** tap on trash can, this may cause damage to separator ![](https://knowledgelibrary.ttifloorcare.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-08-2025-07-22-22-6031-PM.png?width=130&height=197&name=image-png-May-08-2025-07-22-22-6031-PM.png) 6. Pull filter out of separator assembly. Rinse filter under warm water until water is clear. Reassemble the filter assembly by placing the separator assembly in first, followed by the filter assembly. Insert the entire assembly into the dirt cup. Inspect the wand for any blockages and carefully remove any debris that may be present. 10.
