This article contains information on how to fix suction issues on the Hoover Excelerate.
TIP: Select the appropriate vacuum MODE based on the type of flooring you are cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
TIP: Make sure the flap at the opening of the hand vacuum is free of any debris both in front of and behind it for optimal performance.
Follow these steps if you're experiencing low/no suction:
- Remove the hand vacuum from the pole by clicking the button and lifting off of the unit.
- Hold the hand vacuum over a trash bin and press the dirt cup release button to empty.
- After emptying the dirt cup, close the dirt cup.
- Pull the lever between the handle and secure the dirt cup in the opposite hand. Lightly pull to release the dirt cup.
- Pull the handle to remove the separator assembly from the dirt cup. Wipe off any dust or debris.
DO NOT tap on trash can, this may cause damage to separator - Pull filter out of separator assembly. Rinse filter under warm water until water is clear. Allow 24 hours to dry.
DO NOT rinse with soap or detergent, use warm water ONLY. - Reassemble the filter assembly by placing the separator assembly in first, followed by the filter assembly. Insert the entire assembly into the dirt cup. Ensure the assembly is aligned correctly.
- Press the release button and pull the wand to separate.
- Inspect the wand for any blockages and carefully remove any debris that may be present.
- To reassembly, push the wand into the hand vacuum until it clicks into place.
