This article contains all the steps necessary to fix Brush roll issues with your Hoover Excelerate.
TIP: In the event that your brush roll becomes clogged or tangled, the automatic shut-off feature will engage. To continue cleaning, simply clear away any debris and untangle the brush roll before resuming operation.
NOTE: Your thermal protector may have been activated. A thermal protector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating.
1. Turn the cleaner OFF and unplug it.
2. Empty the dirt cup, and clean the nozzle, the filter, and the hose connector.
3. After 30 minutes, once the unit is cleaned resume cleaning.
Follow these steps to fix your brush roll issue:
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, turn power switch OFF before cleaning or servicing. Disconnect the nozzle from the unit before servicing.
- Remove the powered nozzle from the wand by pressing the release button and pulling to separate.
- Using your fingers or a coin, push and turn the brush roll lock counter-clockwise to release the brush roll from the nozzle.
- Pull the brush roll out of the nozzle with pull tab.
- To remove any debris, cut along the groove of the brushroll. Please be cautious when using any sharp object.
- Clear any debris from the end caps inside of the housing of the nozzle.
- Reassemble the brush roll into the housing and turn the brush roll lock clockwise to lock.
- To reassemble, push the nozzle into the wand until it clicks back into place.
WARNING: If you detect an unusual odor after cleaning your brush roll, this may indicate a problem with the belt. We recommend reaching out to customer service for assistance.
